Who am I?

Hi! So very nice to meet you!  This is a quick overview of who I am, and the story that built me and brought me here to provide this service.

I am a proud mom of 5 beautiful and smart, vibrant souls.  They are my motivation to build communities that they would want to raise children in.  To create examples of retired life that future generations can see and look forward to.

For myself, after surviving an almost 20-year marriage, I found myself single and homeless with five children.  Having a huge family is a blessing because it kept a roof over my children's heads and food in their stomachs for the first few years. Their support has been irreplaceable throughout this ride, and I cannot be thankful enough for them.

We've moved several times trying to find a place where I could make enough of a living to build the life I wanted my children to have.  Through the many years it took me to build us back up, we have lived in hotels, in air bnbs, and public housing and apartments not exactly in that order. Working our way up was a roller coaster of a ride with medium high ups and very low lows.  It's been a journey to say the least, but I have learned so much on the way.

The first thing I learned is that as I was building us, the economy was tanking.  So the goal was getting farther away the closer I got to it. This was very disheartening.  The next thing I realized, is that the goals I was working so hard to reach, were changing.  As I saw and spoke to other families who were going through the same things I was going through.  And families that had never been through anything even resembling homelessness, or hunger so couldn't really understand those particular hardships.  I listened intently to them all.  All of the perspectives and opinions, even the ones I disagreed with, I tried to understand how they reached their viewpoints.  And I learned, expanded my horizons and my goals evolved.  They grew from just financial freedom, to actual freedom.  Not just mine, but my children and grandchildren as well.  We are still working our way up toward being stable.  But it's no longer so far out of reach that we cannot fathom it.  I want my children to see that hard work, dedication, will yeild fruit, even if it takes a little longer.  I want them to be confident when they shoot for the stars that even though they can't see them, they can still reach them.  At the same time, I want them to be as concerned about others as they are about themselves.  I believe wholeheartedly in win/win.  I don't see any reason why we can't all win, all the time!!  and I endeavor to make sure we all do!  Welcome to our family!!
